John Goodson

Favorites Hi-Res-7470John Goodson sings and plays banjo for the band. He was born on July 1st, 1964 to Boyce and Norma Goodson. John was brought up on strong Christian values, and was raised in a little white church where his mama played the pump organ. It was actually named after his great, great, great grandfather, Dr. George Badger Wetmore! He based his life on his family’s example and in 2011, he was honored to marry his wife Sandra at that very same little white church where so many of his family had began their lives together. He has been musically influenced by his entire family throughout the years, but especially by his father. He introduced John to the music of groups like Flatt & Scruggs, Reno & Smiley, and The Osbourne Brothers. Thanks to this musical influence, John started learning to play the guitar at age 14, and starting pickin’ the 5-string banjo a few years later. He has always enjoyed playing bluegrass music, however, he feels that a true blessing comes from performing Bluegrass Gospel Music. He is grateful to God for saving him, and thanks Him for all the Blessings he has bestowed upon him and the privilege of being part of this Music Ministry.
